🇮🇹 Ever Heard of Taormina? You’re Gonna Want to Go…

It's Monday. You deserve to mentally escape to Sicily for a few minutes!

So… we may have booked a trip to Sicily purely because we got hooked on White Lotus Season 2 (If you haven’t watched it, you really should!). And guess what? Taormina is even more gorgeous in real life than it is on screen — and that’s saying a lot.

Yes, it’s touristy. Yes, it can be crowded. But also yes: it’s absolutely worth it. Sicily to us was this incredible blend of maybe some of the best Italian food we’ve had, charming coastal towns, fiery volcanos, and a rich culture!

We spent a few days exploring the cinematic mountaintop town of Taormina and fell in love with the seaside vibes, looming views of Mount Etna, and dangerously addictive arancinis. We have rounded up 17 of our favourite things to do while you’re there — but we’ll tease you with our top 5 so you can decide if Sicily needs to be added to your travel radar ASAP:

  1. 🧑‍🍳 Take a cooking class with Chef Massimo: We’ve done our fair share of cooking classes around the world, but this one? Chef Massimo taught us how to actually cook, not just follow a recipe. We left with full bellies and an irrational confidence in our pasta-making abilities.
  2. 🚶‍♀️ Stroll Corso Umberto: By day and night, Corso Umberto turns into a runway, with fashionistas strutting around like they’ve been plucked straight from the pages of Vogue Italia. But in the early morning? The main street is quiet, charming, and gives major “Italian movie set” energy when it’s not jam-packed with selfie sticks.
  3. 🍤 Try all the arancinis and cannolis: Honestly, this is non-negotiable. You’re in Sicily. Calories don’t count. Arancini are essentially fried rice balls stuffed with all sorts of fillings: including juicy ragù! It’s the best snack for while you’re strolling those charming streets!
  4. ⛵ Sail around Isola Bella: Seeing Taormina from the water brings a whole other appreciation of just how beautiful this cliffside town is. Rocky coves, turquoise sea, and yes — you’ll feel like you’re starring in your own movie.
  5. 🏛 Visit Teatro Antico di Taormina: It’s absolutely incredible to see a full Roman amphitheatre perched dramatically on the cliffs of Taormina, offering jaw-dropping views of the turquoise Sicilian coast.
And just when you’re feeling all historic and inspired, your eyes catch the lineup of mega-yachts bobbing in the bay — a gentle reminder that some people vacation with private chefs and helipads, while we are here Googling “cheapest arancini in town.”

Want to see the rest of our Taormina faves (like the best restaurants, secret viewpoints, and where to hike off all those cannolis)? We’ve got the full scoop on our blog:

Consider this your not-so-subtle nudge to start daydreaming about Sicily.

That's it for now!

Looking forward to bringing you new joy, inspiration, and adventures!
